Citrus uses in the garden
- Get rid of ants by blending a few orange peels in a cup of warm water. Use the mixture in your garden, on your verandah, and along the outside walls of your house.
- Make biodegradable bird feeders by cutting a citrus fruit in half, removing the fruit (eat and enjoy!), filling the halves with bird seed, and placing them in your garden.
- Keep cats out of flower beds by placing citrus peels in and around them. Cats don’t like the smell of citrus and will usually head in the opposite direction.
- Sprinkle orange peel around your vegetable patch as an excellent organic slug repellent.
- Rub fresh orange peel over your skin to keep mosquitoes and other insects from bugging you.
