Citrus uses for cooking

  • To keep rice from sticking together, add a spoonful of lemon juice to the water when boiling.
  • To crisp up soggy lettuce, add the juice of half a lemon to a bowl of cold water. Put the lettuce in it and refrigerate for an hour.
  • To prevent potatoes and cauliflower from turning brown when boiling, squeeze a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice into the cooking water.
